about.me: just another blogger

Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a smart person. I am a quick learner. I am observant as I am rational. I get pretty good grades in my classes. I am able to say the wrongly right and rightly wrong things.

All for several other reasons, none of which involve intellect.

This isn’t about humility to me. On the contrary, this is only bluntness. I believe that the human person is wholly an egoist who revels in pride in everything he/she does.

With that being said, I may be typing this to gain your approval of my being me.

And that’s exactly what I’m doing.

I’m not smart. I’m not “imba” or “master” or any of the sort. I’m just able to process input into output much faster than others, like a completely and constantly upgraded computer for ideas and designs.

I believe every person has the capacity to do and be the same.

In this kind of world, time isn’t restricted to schedules and the thinking human mind had to catch up with it just the same. We shackle ourselves into timetables and decide when what should be done. We divide the world and the people in it according to time zones, even daring to warp them with the technology we’ve created. Everything in this kind of world is faster — either creating itself or destroying it.

In this kind of world now, people are changing from narrow-mindedness into nurturing a plethora of genius or madness (or even both at the same time). Inventions, religion, politics, logic, philosophy; people are learning to think faster, to think bigger, in order to do the things our ancestors never believed we could.

Again, I believe every person has the capacity to do and be the same.

I’m only an architecture sophomore, a novice of the industry. There are so many things that astound me and bore me just the same. I take my fascinations and develop them into conceptualized form and likewise set aside (or even dispose of) the ideas that don’t interest me.

I’m only both a learner and a teacher to myself and perhaps a few others. I grow at the same pace as my peers, following the same steps as my mentors. Simultaneously, we differ — teacher and student — with the things we take in and the experiences that engulf us, day in and out.

I am a human, every day, every waking and sleeping moment. My basic needs don’t differ from those of the ones born before me and after. I see things as uniquely as any other individual does. Although I lay out my ideas unlike any other person who has ever lived and ever will live, I am still like everybody else. Just the same, I believe what my professor Nick Ramos has said in our final theory class, there is no one in the world who is exactly like me.

Humans are perhaps the most ironic of all beings. Believing in the things that they defy; defying the things that they believe in. We think the world of ourselves and yet we twist our values in a so-called humility.

I am not a smart person. I may be the stupidest person who has ever lived, or I may be the epitome of modern-day genius. Right now, though, I am neither.

I just like thinking.

Welcome to my blog. Please make yourself at home. :)
